**Hockey Mentors Founder Wyatt Lucas Receives WDIV Local 4 ''Go 4 It'' Award
Auburn Hills, MI – Hockey Mentors is proud to announce that Founder and President Wyatt Lucas has been named the recipient of WDIV Local 4's prestigious "Go 4 It" Award, recognizing individuals who make an extraordinary impact in their communities.
The award honors Wyatt's vision of creating Hockey Mentors, a Michigan nonprofit dedicated to making hockey accessible to children and adults with disabilities, developmental differences, and physical challenges. Through free learn-to-skate, adaptive skating, and sled hockey programs, Hockey Mentors has welcomed hundreds of participants and volunteers while creating an inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to experience the joy of being on the ice.
"This recognition belongs to every volunteer, family, donor, sponsor, and community partner who believes every child deserves the chance to play," said Lucas. "Hockey Mentors exists because so many people have chosen to make inclusion a priority."
In just its first year, Hockey Mentors has grown into one of Michigan's fastest-growing adaptive hockey organizations, bringing together athletes of all abilities while fostering confidence, friendships, and lifelong memories.
The organization extends its sincere appreciation to WDIV Local 4 and Dr. Kimberlydawn Wisdom for recognizing the positive impact Hockey Mentors is making throughout Southeast Michigan. Hockey Mentors also thanks its dedicated volunteers, sponsors, and supporters whose generosity makes these life-changing programs possible.
Those interested in volunteering, sponsoring programs, or learning more about Hockey Mentors are encouraged to connect with the organization and help continue its mission of ensuring that everyone feels at home on the ice.
