Management Trainee
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Assumes responsibility for gaining knowledge of supervision.
1. Receives training in functions and operations of related departments to facilitate subsequent
transferability between departments and to provide greater promotional opportunities.
2. Receives training on branch security. Assists with opening and closing of the building in accordance with
set hours. Tests security equipment as assigned. Ensures Branch security.
3. Learns line and staff functions, operations, management viewpoints, and credit union policies and
practices that affect each phase of operation.
4. Assists with Member Service Representative and Teller functions. Performs duties related to all credit
union products and services. Handles direct deposit functions and safe deposit boxes. Assists in
opening new member accounts and with loan closings and disbursements.
5. Promotes Branch business development and seeks to broaden the member base. Actively cross-sells
Credit Union products and services.
6. Observes experienced workers and managers to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and
standards required for performance of departmental duties.
7. Completes required reports and records and ensures that Branch functions are properly documented.
8. Assists with implementing changes to established policy and procedures within the Branch.
9. Develops interpersonal skills that will promote a positive work environment.
10. Supports the credit union mission by actively participating in community events.
11. Learns to identify and adapt to the different behavior styles of the staff and makes adjustments to interact
more effectively with the different styles.

Assumes responsibility for gaining knowledge of sales leadership, tracking, reporting and coaching.
1. Assists in addressing and resolves sales related problems. Develops skills to implement and monitor
sales and service quality plans.
2. Provides leadership through the development of effective coaching and communication.
3. Assists in conducting regular meetings with branch/department employees to inform and train.
4. Becomes proficient at coaching, mentoring, and guiding staff in sales ability, goal attainment, and sales
leadership.
5. Supports and models the Genisys Service Experience Standards i.e. WAGS, GSR, etc.
6. Develops relationships with staff to provide daily coaching and feedback to branch/department employees
regarding development of sales and service skills.
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and working relations
with Branch/Department personnel.
1. Provides assistance, direction, and supervision as needed, including guidance for Tellers and Member
Service Representatives.
2. Reviews and monitors the work of personnel. Provides suggestions and support as necessary.
3. Assists with orientation of new employees and staff training sessions. Ensures that personnel are well
trained in all phases of their respective jobs. Performs cross training as necessary.
4. Assists with determining appropriate staffing levels and scheduling employees.
5. Assists with tracking individual progress and conducting performance appraisals. Formulates and
implements corrective actions as needed.
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with
members.
1. Ensures that members' requests and questions are promptly and courteously resolved. Answers
members’ questions or refers appropriately. Verifies deposits and provides payoff and bluebook quotes.
2. Ensures the members are informed of Credit Union services, products, and policies. Cross-sells services.
3. Ensures that the Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained.
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
1. Replaces Branch Manager as necessary. Assists with personnel functions as assigned.
2. Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
3. Performs other duties that help support branch operations or sales, as assigned or directed by Branch Manager.
4. May be required to travel to multiple branch locations during the training period.
5. Required to complete all assigned items on the Management Training checklist.
