Michigan's New Marijuana Law: What Every Business Should Know
The legalization of recreational marijuana brings with it a number of workplace issues that employers need to consider: How should it be addressed in company policies? How will it affect drug testing of job candidates when unemployment is already low? Are employers obligated to allow medical marijuana? What type of litigation or future legislation is expected? What should employers do?
Craig Vanderburg, chief operating officer and James Baiers, chief legal officer, Trion Solutions, Inc., will conduct an interactive and fascinating sesssion to brief Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce members and guests on how the new marijuana law is expected to affect businesses in the state of Michigan. Mr Vanderburg is know for expertise in the venture capital, managment consulting, and investment banking and human resources industries.

James E. Baiers has more than 35 years' expericence in all areas of the law. He has provided advice and litigated matters involving all aspects of employment law. Mr Baiers' extensive lititgation experience in state and federal courts, and before administrative agencies, provides clients with the expertise needed to successfully navigate these complex areas impacting their businesses. Mr. Baiers has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, magna cum laude from Western Michigan University, and a Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude from the Detroit College of Law, Michigan State University.
