SUMMARY:See What Stacey Started -Exhibition Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:Join Paint Creek Center for the Arts for the See What Stacy Started Open Exhibition Reception!\n\n\n\nThis reception is free and open to the public. Includes light refreshments (The Cheese Lady)\, DJ and meet and mingle with participating artists. Donations collected for MS research. Artists will be donating a portion of their art sales to MS research as well.\n\n\n\nSee What Stacy Started\n\n\n\nFounded by Brian Lewandowski\, See What Stacey Started is inspired by friendship and his experience with creative community building. "Stacey Skiera was one of my best friends at Central Michigan University\, and the entire reason I started doing figure drawing. She invited me to one of the open figure drawing sessions held by the CMU art department and I instantly fell in love with it. Sadly\, Stacey passed away several years ago and I never got the chance to really tell her how much it meant to me that she brought me to that first session. This is my way of showing the world the effect she had on me\, and now indirectly on everyone who comes to our SWSS sessions."\n\n\n\nToday\, SWSS coordinates figure drawing sessions once a month in partnership with small businesses around Metro Detroit. Sessions are open to anyone who would like to draw for just $10. Funds provide payment for the venue\, model\, and multiple sclerosis research. Together with participants\, SWSS has held ten exhibitions over the last decade to showcase artwork created from these sessions and raise funds to support multiple sclerosis research.\n\n\n\nThe exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. Beginning May 21st through June 17th\, the exhibit will be open during regular PCCA business hours. (M-TH: 9am-7pm\, SAT: 10am-4pm\, SUN: 10am-3pm. Closed Fridays.)\n\nFree parking is available at Rochester Municipal Park (400 6th St\, Rochester\, MI 48307). Paid parking is available in the parking structure off University and Walnut\, and at metered spots around downtown.\n\n\n\n*Please note that the gallery is located on the second floor of a historic ~1800s building and is only accessible by stairway. PCCA does not consider the space handicap accessible.
